Hello, my people!
This is a page dedicated to my favorite author, Harlan J. Ellison. He lived from 1934-2018, and was a prolific writer, critic, nucince, and general cultural entity :). His published works include more than 1,700 short stories, novellas, screenplays, comic-book scripts, teleplays, essays, and a wide range of criticism covering literature, film, television, and print media.
I have no idea how to summarize this person in a way that will be accurate, but what a rabbit hole it is to research his life and works! He's not only inspired much of my own writing and art, but his general attitude regarding the value and meaning of a writer's work is something that deeply resonated with me. His keep-no-prisoners approach and low bullshit threshold, especially for things like plagiarism, censorship and ignorance, is something I not only relate to but aspire to.
I also collect his books (along with other vintage books and media), most being over 40 years old. Most of his stuff is out of print now, so secondhand books are essential if you want to read his works. A lot of my collection is also signed, and that'll be noted below'em!
